Wholewheat Custard Cookies without butter

Cookies taste best when baked in butter, but what do you do when you are out of butter and you are too lazy to get out and buy some, and to top it all you have an infant wanting some cookies coz it is "yummy tummy time!" Phew so I got out of this by baking "Wholewheat Custard Cookies" that turned out to be a simple recipe! Do try it once...

The Stuff required:

Vegetable Oil - 1/4 cup

Powdered Sugar - 1/2 cup

Wheat Flour  - 1 cup

Custard Powder - 1/4 cup

Baking Powder - 1/2 teaspoon

Baking Soda - 1/4 teaspoon

Vanilla Essence - 1/2 teaspoon

Milk - 1 tablespoon

How to go about making it:

Preheat your oven to 170 degree C / 340 degree F.
Line  your baking tray with parchment paper and grease it.
In a bowl mix it with wheat flour, custard powder, powdered sugar, baking soda, baking powder and mix well.
Add oil and vanilla and knead into a dough, if it looks dry and a tablespoon of milk.(can add two tablespoon of milk if needed) and knead again.
Shape the dough into small balls on your greased and parchment lined tray.
Press it lightly, and use a fork to make indentions.
I also added jam on top to add the fun element for my lil one!
Bake it in the preheated oven for 15-17 mins. And let it cool...ta..da your wholewheat custard cookies are ready! I had mine with a cuppa chai!
