Grape Jam with just 3 ingredients...:D
So there we were at the base of Nandi Hills when we chanced upon the vineyards and the luscious purple grapes were simply calling out to be picked. I managed to salvage some of the grapes to make some jam:)
Stuff required to make the grape jam:
800 grams of washed grapes (wash the grapes atleast 3-4 times)
2 cups of granulated sugar
1 inch piece of ginger
How to go about making the grape jam!
Wash grapes properly. Crush the ginger. In a thick bottomed vessel add these grapes with the sugar and ginger and bring to a boil on sim flame. Ensure that the sugar dissolves totally. After some 10-12 minutes the grape pulp will separate from the skin. Once this happens take it off the gas stove. After it cools down a bit sieve this mix to get rid of the seeds and the skin. This mix has all the actual pulp required for the jam so squeeze this well to get the seedless and skinless pulp. Then take this pulp which also resembles a juice back on the gas stove on sim and slowly let it boil till it reaches a thickness that you are ok with. My jam took around half an hour to forty minutes to reach a consistency that I was ok with. Once it cools down it thickened further. After it cools down, store it in an air tight container.
