Go ga ga over Raaaagi Cookies

Ragi was a good solid meal for my little one but slowly as toddlerhood approached  she seemed intent on experimenting other kinds of food...the ragi look a backseat. So I tried re-introducing it in a different package...COOKIES and she was back in love with Ragi:)

The stuff required:1 1/4 th cup ragi flour1 1/4 th cup wheat flour (you can also use maida if you want)1 cup sugar (powdered- I used brown sugar)3/4th cup melted butter 1/4th cup ghee (optional) 1/4th teaspoon baking powder1/4th teaspoon baking soda1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder1/4th teaspoon vanilla essence

How to go about making the cookies

Sieve the flour, baking soda and powder together in a bowl. In a separate bowl, mix the vanilla essence, sugar and melted butter. Then mix the flour with the butter mix and knead for a couple of minutes. Roll the dough into small balls and flatten them I also used cookie cutters of different shapes to make it more interesting for my little one to eat. I used a fork to make certain indentions.
Set them on a greased and flour dusted tray and bake them in a pre-heated oven at 170 deg C for 15 to 20 mins. Ragi cookies need to be cooled on a wire rack and if stored in an air tight container can be a great snack for a few days!
